Krave Beauty Oat So Simple Water Cream Review

This is my take for the #SlowFarSlowGood campaign by none other than the beauty brand, Krave Beauty founded by Liah Yoo. I’ve so far started my #SkincareCommitment since the last quarter of 2019. I’ve bought OSSWC last year and waited to finish off my current cream at that time. The advocacy of the brand helped me to #SlowDownSkincare as I’ve experienced products after products that got expired shelf life because I just casually opened them without the intent to fully use in a routine.

You might question that I receive PR products from brands. Don’t worry, I’m going to make sure that the PR products I received are products that my skin needs. But if it doesn’t work on me, I do give it off to others that might need it.

What is Oat So Simple Water Cream?

“A no-frills moisturizer that’s Oh- so simple. Created with less than 10 ingredients, it blends into everyone and anyone’s skincare routine without worry. Feed your skin this skin-calming, water-bursting moisturizer when it’s craving some good old-fashioned hydration.”

When they first announced that a new product launch will come soon I did not hesitate to think that it’ll be a moisturizer! It got me so excited to know that it’ll be a fungal-acne safe product! Not a lot of products consider those who have this condition so I think it’s such a good move by Krave Beauty!

Packaging

I remembered they did a poll on this and I voted for a jar knowing it’ll be unhygienic at that. But for me, I think jars can be recycled easily than pumps or squeeze tubes.

The product comes in a plastic tub/jar with their usual beautiful branding on their products. It also comes with a unique light brown to peach shade spatula with the words “PRESS RESET”. It can be recycled as a keychain which is a very neat idea too!

Pricing

They are not available worldwide but they retail at USD 28.00. It’s not too bad for a simplified 50ml water cream!

Texture and Scent

I love the texture! It’s a fluffy buttery white cream that spreads in easily. I can’t fully describe the scent but to me it smells sweet I’m not sure how but my husband agreed with me. Sorry, my smell senses doesn’t help you on this at all.

Ingredients

Water, Butylene Glycol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Squalane, 1,2-Hexanediol, Behenyl Alcohol, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin

This product contains 9 ingredients only for a moisturizer. It took them two years to create this kind of cream so I respect the dedication from the Krave Beauty fam, especially to their CEO, Liah Yoo. The key ingredient of this product is the Avena Sativa (Oat) Meal Extract. According to Krave Beauty, “Oats are one of the most well-researched, natural ingredients in skincare. It has tremendous skin-calming properties that invite your skin into a state of zen.”

Oats are one of the top superfoods, no wonder they can also be a great skincare ingredient!

My Experience

At first when I knew it’s a water cream I immediately thought of the product as a lightweight cream, those kinds of moisturizers that are perfect for summertime. I bought and used this one during the winter season. I waited for my other water cream to finish before using this product (oh yes, I’ve been practicing #SkincareCommitment since the last quarter of 2019). The product spreads in really beautifully and easily. I just had one small problem with the spatula with the PRESS RESET letters on it as some of the product get in between the gaps. You need to clean it well before and after using it, but I don’t mind it at all.

I’ve already expected that it might be a little light for me during the winter, and so it does. Luckily for me, I have The Ordinary’s 100% Squalane Oil to mix with the cream. Just two drops of Squalane Oil boosted the hydration helped my skin get through the winter times. In the evening I make sure I always have it mixed with Squalane Oil, and in the morning it’s either one drop of Squalane Oil or another hydration-booster serum that I have from Rooki Beauty.

It’s a beautiful cream, and it didn’t clog my pores nor have it caused me breakouts. It moisturizes my skin (but not enough) and paired it with the Krave Beauty Beet The Sun gave me that dewy finish and glow in the morning. It doesn’t have a sticky feeling after using it, rather it gives me a plumper look and my skin felt soft. It’s just that it’s not enough as a standalone cream for me. I love it when used with a booster but since I’ve used it during the winter season I might need one again to test it during summertime. I have a combination-to-oily skin I need a lighter routine in the morning.

I’ll give credit that as a moisturizer with less than 10 ingredients it’s already that beautiful. Kudos to the Krave Beauty team for their dedication and intent to create skincare products that we consumers really need. I would highly recommend this cream for those who are still new in skincare!

I’ve already planned on purchasing a new one to test it out during the summer season. Imagine the heat here in the Middle East, I needed something light and will not clog but at the same time still hydrates my skin throughout the day.

Final Verdict

Again, it’s a beautiful simple cream but just wasn’t enough alone for my skin. It’s just a good thing I have a spare Squalane Oil with me, Liah Yoo made me buy and try Squalane Oils too! I will update my experience during the summer season here I’m just hoping I could be able to buy one after this pandemic.

PRODUCT RATING 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑 4/5 because you already know the reason. 😉

KraveBeauty Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser - Product Review

Who is KraveBeauty?

KRAVE BEAUTY is a beauty brand from South Korea founded by Liah Yoo. They launched their first product (Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser) last December 12, 2017 (if I’m not mistaken). KraveBeauty products are vegan-friendly, cruelty-free, essential-oils free, fragrance-free, and colorant-free.

We’re a skincare company that sells a cleanser while telling you to cleanse less. WHAT? I know, how ironic, right? Are we non-profit? No. We have bills to pay. We just believe that being transparent wouldn’t compromise the company’s growth.

We’re good people, with good intention, a nerdy friend who’s looking out for you–starting from your skin.

A bit more about us? Our brand was founded by beauty influencer, Liah Yoo, to fight the ineffective yet conventional skincare routine that has trained you to apply more than what your skin actually needs.

It’s simple. We tell the truth to make your skin to its top-notch shape, and we create skincare products that work with your skin, not against it.
